My Reflection (Courses) - 1st Half

KRD

Dr. Suzana had been teaching us for two semesters, from separation process to now, kinetic Reactor and Design. At first, I thought she is those type of lecturer that like to torture us by giving those question that we never seen before in final exam (because our seniors always said so), so at the beginning, I was a bit scare when attending her class. However, KRD changed my mindset, maybe due to the class had been separate into two groups and I am with the smaller group, I feel that Dr. Suzana is a very good lecturer, she has high expectation on us, from chapters to chapters, she will always ensure that we always know what she is teaching by keep revising what she had teach before, and she always give example in the class to let us understand this subject more. For me, I started to learn things from her and paid full attention in her class because Dr. Suzana is a good and dedicated lecturer too.

CPDIC

For CPDIC, this subject is a bit challenging for me, since the concept is quite hard to understanding, and we have to recall back subject that we have learned before like Laplace transform, partial fraction decomposition and ODE, but I have learned a lot of new things that taught by our lecturer, Dr Abbas. Besides that, I like Dr Abbas because he is dedicated to teach us, whenever we have any questions, he would explain to us patiently, and……Dr Abbas really looks like those super cool villain from spy movies, every time I look at him, cant help myself but keep thinking about James Bond or Mission Impossible.

PSLP

PSLP is a quite different subject because what I learned and what I think this subject will be is two different things, most of the things I learned in PSLP is quite straightforward and I think this subject is important because safety is always one of the important element that we need to consider in engineering, especially in industrial field.

My Reflection (Board Game)

Board Game

This project is creative and special to us because this is the first time we required to create a board with the knowledge that we learned (CPDIC, KRD, PSLP). However, all of my group mates works hard together to make our project as perfect as soon. I believe we have learned a lot in this project and this is a good chance for us to know our course mates more.

KRD Based Questions in the Board Game

We have learned various reaction and reactor type more deeply after finishing this project. Besides that, this project is also a good platform for us to practice our knowledge about mole balance, rate law, heat balance, reaction order and concept of stoichiometry better.

CPDIC Based Questions in the Board Game

After doing this project, I gain more knowledge about theory and practical stuff that we have to learned in CPDIC because we have to come out with question in our board game, by preparing question and also answer for CPDIC subject, we have grasp the concepts more firmly.

PSLP Based Questions in the Board Game

In this game, we learned more about the dangerous event that might be occurs when we are operating a plant and we have learned how to determine the level of dangerous and the ways to overcome if something happens in a chemical plantation.

My Reflection (Courses) - 2nd Half

KRD

Continuing with the syllabus, we have learned about multiple reactions, reaction mechanisms, pathways, bio reactions & bioreactor, steady/unsteady state in nonisothermal reactor designs.

CPDIC

We have learned into a deeper scope of feedback control system, and also the frequency control analysis and instruments that may be implemented into these processes.

PSLP

More hazards have been taken into consideration as the syllabus goes on. Like, fire and explosions that may happen in industrial practices. These information learned will be precious if implemented in the industry as it may help to prevent potential serious injuries/damages.

My Reflection (Mini Project)

After the first project, time management and team communication have become better, therefore it is easier for us to handle this project. This project is both innovative and challenging, as it covers not only syllabus from our subjects, but also some other industrial applications. I believe after this project all of us are able to comprehend more about designing processing plants.
